Restorative yoga encourages physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Appropriate for all levels, restorative yoga is practiced at a slow pace, focusing on long holds, stillness, and deep breathing.
This form of yoga uses props such as blocks, bolsters, or blankets. The props help you hold passive poses for longer without exerting or tiring out your muscles.
It also allows you to feel comfortable and supported, regardless of your experience with yoga.
And, since you’re encouraged to relax fully in the pose while focusing on your breath, restorative yoga allows you to release tension in your muscles for longer periods without discomfort while activating the parasympathetic nervous system.

Ellen Camilli is a Licensed Massage Therapist and owner of Blossoming Serenity Massage.
Her interest in supporting others through the practice of massage, encourages self-care which is so important for all of us to maintain, especially when we are overstressed.
Massage has the ability to help reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress. It is something you can “receive” rather than “do”.
Imagine the pairing of massage and restorative yoga. During this yoga session, while you are in a passive pose, Ellen will make her way to each participant for a short massage to support your relaxation and restoration.
